2. Moisturize

Use moisturizer on your skin to keeping the skin soft and hydrated. Ointments and thick creams provide better protection to your skin.

An eczema flare up can be due to scented soaps or dust mites. Eliminate products with fragrance like perfumes, soaps, and cosmetics – from your routine. Look for products without chemicals and additives. Other triggers can be pet dander, household cleaners, gasoline, grass, dust, chemicals, and mites.

4. Wear Protective Gloves

Protect your hands using rubber gloves and use a non-perfumed thick and moisturizing hand cream before you hit the bed.

5. Keep your Hands Dry

Make sure to keep your hands dry. Prolonged exposure to water can cause eczema.

6. Stress Management

Emotions can lead to eczema irritation. Best methods to manage stress include exercise, breathing techniques, biofeedback etc.

7. Wear Comfortable Clothes that don’t irritate the Skin

Wools and synthetic fabrics can irritate the skin. Wash clothes before you wear since this can reduce irritation to some extent.

8. Control the Temperature inside the House

You can definitely control it inside the house. When the weather is humid and hot, use air conditioners but when it is humid using a cool mist humidifier. This will prevent your skin from becoming too dry in winters.

9. Eczema Medication

If above mentioned tips don’t work, then you need to visit the doctor immediately. If you are already using a prescribed medication, then follow the instructions strictly.

Studies have revealed that nothing science linking certain foods with flare-ups. Tea is good beverage to treat eczema, especially drinking green, black, and Oolong tea are very helpful. Also having fish oil rich in Omega 3 Fatty acids can treat eczema.
